• You will be part of a twelve member English teaching team and will be assigned for high school students (aged 15 to 18) in 1ère ACL BFI (English Literature), Terminale Euro, 1ère LLCE (English Literature),1ère common core
• You will be required to create a supporting learning environment which will help students meet their learning goals, based mainly on the requirements stipulated by the French Ministry of Education and in accordance with the “Common European Framework of Reference” for languages.
• You will be required to collaborate with teaching staff and administrators to foster a good student experience, by participating in various meetings, including but not limited to, pedagogical meetings, parents meetings, and class councils meetings.
• You will be required to develop pedagogical projects with your class and participate in the established school projects and implement them.
• You will be required to be part of a dynamic team and participate in reflective pedagogy that is specifically inline with a bicultural establishment and learning environment, as approved by the French Ministry of Education and under contractual agreement with the responsible employer – MLCI (Mission Laïque Côte d’Ivoire)
Contract type and duration
Open-ended local law contract, 90-day trial period
with other teachers.
Priority will be given to a candidate whose mother tongue is English and who has graduated from an English-speaking university in British Literature.
Diploma(s) required :
• Holders of the CAPES or agrégation from the French Ministry of Education (French candidates)
or
• Bachelor /Master of Arts & Cultural Studies in English/Education/British Literature/etc.
• Deep understanding of the used French curriculum and English language requirements
• A good command of spoken and written French is an advantage.
• Three years' experience in a secondary school is desirable.
• Adaptability, people skills, desire to innovate and motivate students.
• Good command of the usual software and numerical applications.
