Rochambeau is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic French teacher for secondary school, covering middle and high school students. The teacher will deliver lessons in alignment with the French National Curriculum, prepare high school students for the Épreuves Anticipées de Français of the French Baccalauréat, and support students in an international environment. The ideal candidate will also have expertise in French as a language of schooling (langue de scolarisation) and familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), as these curricula are implemented in Grades 9 to 12 (preferred but not mandatory).
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the school director, the French teacher will:
Plan and deliver engaging, effective lessons aligned with the French National Curriculum and the requirements of the Épreuves Anticipées de Français.
Create a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters the intellectual, social, and emotional development of all students.
Prepare students for the Diplome National du Brevet examinations, ensuring academic excellence.
Develop, adapt, and select instructional materials and assessments to meet diverse student needs, including those learning French as a language of schooling.
Monitor and evaluate student progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare detailed trimester report cards.
Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum content and assessments across grades and programs.
Integrate educational technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement.
Supervise students in various school settings and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
Participate actively in parent-teacher conferences, faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
Support and contribute to the school’s bilingual and multicultural environment, upholding Rochambeau’s vision, mission, and values.
Actively engage in extracurricular activities or initiatives that enrich the school community.

Education & Experience
Certification: Certifié(e) or agrégé(e) in Lettres Modernes or Lettres Classiques from the French Ministry of Education, or an equivalent certification from a Francophone country.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching the Épreuves Anticipées de Français and preparing students for French national exams.
Education: A four-year post-secondary degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in French literature, linguistics, or a related field.
Experience: At least three years of teaching experience in secondary schools, with a focus on French literature and language instruction.
International Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) MYP and DP curricula is preferred.
